Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Uses various equipment, hand and power tools.
- Picks up and/or delivers construction materials at job site locations.
- Performs job site clean-up.
- Assists with flagging and traffic control as needed.
- Maintains all tools and equipment in a safe and clean condition.
- Other duties as assigned per supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus.ww
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondences and memos.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory and Order processing systems; uses job specific computer system for ticketing and two way radio for communications.
- May be subject to drug testing, and physical agilities testing.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to work with a shovel or rake for periods of time throughout the day. Shovel work can require handling from 10 lbs. to 30 lbs. on a regular bases. Pushing and pulling an asphalt rake is required.
- Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching and squatting.
- Climbing up onto and down off of equipment on a regular basis. This requires the use of hand and food holds to mount and dismount the equipment. Must be able to climb without limitation or restriction.
- Operation of directional, speed, and operational controls on the equipment. This requires movement by hand of levers, switches and typically a steering wheel to turn the unit.
- A variety of other activities can be performed as needed such as flagging traffic, operating a vibratory tamp (to compact asphalt in tight places), or using hand tools and equipment.
