- Knowledge of MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) rules, training practices, first aid and any other rules of safety as applicable to the specific task.
- Services assigned machine before starting operation daily – checks oil levels, hydraulic, coolant and other fluids. Visual check of tires and overall machine condition. Checks entire machine for safe operation ability.
- Fuels assigned machine with diesel fuel from storage tanks.
- Operate assigned machine in safe fashion as it applies to one's self and fellow crew members. Operate machine in as efficient, productive fashion possible with highest production rate applicable.
- Perform plant maintenance with minor repairs and assist mechanic.
- Clean around plant – requires shoveling.
- Keeps work area clean, orderly and inform supervisor of any potential problem developments.
- Assists mechanic with any breakdowns, hose repairs, welding or scheduled maintenance on machine. May include extended downtime and lifting duties.
- Utility and ground crew shall perform their assigned job and report any discrepancies to their supervisor.
- Must submit to random drug testing, as selected, and comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy.
