  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices
  • Review purchase order detail for accuracy
  • Assist Accounting department in verifying pricing and receipts of purchased products
  • Contact suppliers on adjustments, incorrect materials/supplies, delivery delays, etc.
  • Schedule delivery dates and insure freight payment terms are accurate
  • Receive purchase orders into the company ERP(Lawson)
  • Determine optimal purchasing volumes based on historical usage and current level in stock
  • Consult departments involved when substitutions may be advantageous for the company
  • Update Lawson pricing where applicable
  • Monitor standard costs against items received to maintain accuracy
  • Match vendor invoices to shipping document
  • Monitor payment on vendor accounts
  • Maximize all vendor discount programs
  • Maintain all vendor purchasing files
  • Monitor PPV reports to insure accuracy
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business preferred / two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detailed oriented and possess strong organization skills
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Computer literate with experience with Microsoft Office software (excel proficiency required)
  • Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time
  • Assist with monthly physical inventory
  • Research actual on hand compared to listed on hand (physical confirmation in the warehouse)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturday once monthly
