- Assure that daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork is turned in correctly and promptly.
- Assure inventories are maintained correctly, including ordering new product, transferring products from plant to plant.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee the daily operations, production of ready-mix concrete, scheduling of equipment, and manpower.
- Interface daily with plant operators to ascertain their needs and problems.
- Preform or assist with plant repair, coordinate with mobile maintenance and researching solutions for problems.
- Maximize efficient utilization of the ready-mix delivery fleet – safe, timely delivery.
- Interface daily with quality control to ensure that the produced mix is meeting design.
- Inspection of job site to ensure safe delivery of concrete.
- Interface daily with customers to ensure they are receiving the ordered product.
- Assure that Company’s ready-mix operations are conducted according to highest standards in regard to safety performance, customer relations/expectations, employee relations, environmental, quality, ethical standards, community relations, production levels, and profitability expectations.
- Perform sampling, testing, and reporting procedures according to established ASTM procedures, having the ability to test RMC material samples and test results in a timely and accurate manner. Review internal and external test results, for compliance with procedures and job specifications.
- Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience with a strong background in the ready-mix concrete industry; or equivalent combination or education, experience, and training.
- Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B), preferred.
- ACI Field Level I Certification, required.
- NRMCA Concrete Technologist, preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Have a working knowledge of state DOT and governing agency job specifications.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (less than 50% of the time).
- Work with United Sales team to ensure customers’ needs and expectations are being met. Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
- Be able to inspect, analyze, and diagnose malfunctions in trucking equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, project specifications, project plans and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to review the results of plastic concrete testing and a given mix design then determine what could have gone wrong in the production.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, percent, and to draw/interpret bar graph.
